MediaTek has unveiled a new chipset MT6739 on Indian Mobile Congress at New Delhi. It is an entry-level chip and successor of MT6735, highly used in the low segment Android device. The new SoC brings minor tweaks over the old one. It employs 4 x Cortex-A53 cores clocked @1.5GHz, whereas, MT6735 works on 4 x Cortex A53 @1.3GHz; therefore slightly overclocked CPU.
It can handle up to 720 x 1440p display (18:9) over the conventional 720p (16:9) on its predecessor. Moreover, The GPU is used IMG PowerVR GE8100 on the new chipset with max. freq. up to 570 MHz. The first time you are going to see some dual camera smartphone about cost $100 as it comes with dual camera support (13MP + 0.3MP). The modem provided is same LTE Cat.4 as we have seen on 6735. Regarding the memory, it is capable of managing up to 3GB DDR3 RAM without any issue including EMMC 5.1 storage.
