Design and Build Quality
iPhone 7 Plus comes with very clean and good looking design. Dimensions of the device are 158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3 mm and it is weighted only 188 g (6.63 oz) which is impressive. We have lightning port on the bottom along without 3.5mm audio jack. Apple removed 3.5 mm jack this time. This could be huge drawback for some people. there is no big change in term of design, almost same as we saw in iPhone 6s Plus. There is redesigned home button at front which you can’t feel but it is still there.
Display
After adding full HD display on iPhone 6s plus still apple stick with same 1080p IPS display panel. There was many rumours by claiming that iPhone 7 plus would be come with 2K display. However apple claims the display of the iPhone 7 plus is 25% brighter then iPhone 6s plus. The new Retina HD display on iPhone 7 plus also integrates 3D Touch like iphone 6s but with great improvements.
Camera
This is the most highlighted feature of this device. It’s also the biggest difference between the 7 and 7 Plus. The iPhone 7 Plus has a 12MP sensor (the same as last year’s iPhone 6s plus), but with a wider aperture, a new lens, a new image processor and optical image stabilisation. What this means to you and me is that the lens lets 50 per cent more light in, allows better colours, and photos will be less blurry.
There are two lenses at backside, first one is normal lens but the another one is telephoto lens which has a longer focal length, magnifying the image. What this means it that the two cameras work together to produce optical zoom. This is whole new thing which we never saw before this on any iPhone.
Hardware and Performance
iPhone 7 plus is powered by Apple’s new chipset Fusion A10. Which is 2x faster than Apple’s previous generation A9 chip according to Apple. iPhone 7 plus also comes with improved software optimisations. Apple Introduced new iOS with lot new features. Performance always superior on all the iPhones because of their great software optimisations so it does not matter which chipset is apple adding. For storage, there are three variants: 32, 128GB and 256 GB coupled with 3 GB of RAM. Apple also improved Siri by adding plenty of new features like proactive suggestions, Listen to and identify songs, Use your voice to send messages and lot more.
Performance wise iPhone 7 and 7 plus are just beast. No other smartphone can achieve that kind of performance as we saw on both iPhones. Both iPhones are IP 67 certified which means you can put your device under 1 meter water for 30 minutes. However, Apple warns that any dip in salt water should be followed by an immediate rinse in fresh water. And also, you have to dry your phone for at least a couple of hours before charging.
Battery
Apple drop down the battery of iPhone 7 plus to 2675 mAh whereas there was a 2750 mAh battery on iPhone 6s Plus. But apple made a claim while launching this device that they improved battery life of this smartphone. The plus versions of iPhone are knows to provide good battery life so we can expect full day of run time from iPhone 7 Plus.
Sound and Multimedia
Apple Improved Sound and Multimedia experience with new iPhone 7. However apple removed 3.5 mm jack which is downside for many but it does not matter a lot. iPhone 7 comes with EarPods that have a Lightning connector. But if you still want to listen through your old headphones, you can plug them in using a 3.5‑millimetre headphone jack adapter, also included. Apple also introduced new wireless AirPods which would cost you around $159 (approx. Rs. 11,000). There are Stereo speakers included, enough to enhance the sound quality to next level.
Pricing and Availability
