Honor Magic 2 smartphone debuts with six cameras, 40W charger and Kirin 980 processor

The Honor Magic 2 has been announced by the company as it was expected. Highlighting point of the device is 6 cameras and a notch-free slider design, as we have seen on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 a few days ago. It has the same 6.39 inches 1080 x 2340 pixels Full HD+ AMOLED display with 108% DCI-P3 Color Gamut. Unlike the other flagship devices, the Honor Magic 2 employs company’s very own HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset paired with 720 MHz ARM Mali-G76MP10 GPU.

As I mentioned above, the optics department is handled by the 6 cameras; three each on both front and rear side. The rear camera setup is managed by the 16MP, f/1.8 aperture, a 24MP secondary f/1.8 aperture (monochrome), and a 16MP super wide angle lens, f/2.2 aperture, LED flash, AIS, AI intelligent stabilization. On the other hands, it another triple camera on the front with a manual slider mechanism, but with different setup; a 16MP front camera with f/ 2.0 aperture,  2MP + 2MP  f / 2.4 aperture cameras for 3D face unlock.

The handset packs 3,500 mAh non-removable battery with massive 40W adapter supplied out of the box. It runs on EMUI 9 based Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box. As far as storage is concerned, it comes with either 6GB RAM and 128GB storage or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM combined with 128/256GB built-in storage. The support in-display fingerprint sensor as well as 3D facial recognition for additional security. Besides, all the essential connectivity options are present like Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (dual-band), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, and USB Type-C port for charging.

Honor Magic 2 Price and Availability

The Honor Magic 2 is priced at 3,799 Yuan (approx. 550$) for the base 6GB RAM variant; 4,299 Yuan (approx. 620$) for 8GB RAM plus 128GB version and 4,799 Yuan (approx. 690$) for 256GB storage variant. It comes in Gradient Black, Gradient Red, and Gradient Blue color options and will start selling from 1st November, whereas, pre-orders have already been started. Apart from that, it has a special “3D Photosensitive Edition” with 3D Biosensing Technology for enhanced security, that comes in 8GB RAM coupled with 512GB of internal storage. The mentioned device will be available in December 2018 for 5,799 Yuan (approx. 830$).
