After 1 year of launching Honor WaterPlay, the company has now launched a new variant of the same tablet. The device comes with a comparatively smaller display of 8 inches, whereas, the original variant was launched with 10.1 inches display on the front. Most of the specs it borrows from the older device with few upgradations.
The Honor WaterPlay 8″ is equipped with 8-inch 1200 x 1920 pixels WXGA display with 60% NTSC Color Gamut. It is powered by the same Kirin 659 processor coupled with MaliT830-MP2 GPU. The optics department is handled by the dual 13MP, f/2.2 + 2MP, f/2.4 rear camera, while, a single 8MP, f/2.0 front-facing shooter on the front. Considering the storage, it has either 64GB or 128GB of built-in storage paired with 4GB of RAM. The physical fingerprint sensor is embedded in the front at the bottom of the screen.
As the name suggests, it is IP67 certified handset against Water and dust, That means submerging it in up to 1m of water for up to 30 minutes shouldn’t pose any problems. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo, based on EMUI 5.1 custom UI out of the box and measures 248×173×7.8 mm weighing around 465g. The device comes also has a version for LTE and Voice Calling and includes all the essential connectivity features.
Honor WaterPlay Price and Availablity
The Honor WaterPlay is priced at 1499 yuan (approx. $220) for the base variant and goes up to 1,899 yuan (approx. $275) for the 128GB WiFi version. Besides, it has LTE variants too, which starts from 1,799 Yuan for 64GB of storage variant. It comes in Gold and Silver color options and will start shipping from November 6 in the home country China.
