Design and Build Quality
Samsung Galaxy A9 pro is Built with the same curved Gorilla Glass front and back while supported by a metal frame we have seen in Samsung Galaxy A9. But when you start holding each phablet and put them on a flat surface you will notice the differences. The Pro is a few hairlines thicker and few grams heavier. It makes some distinguishable assets when comparing the two, but impossible when you only have either one of the two.
The added weight and thickness do not spoil the premium experience. The device felt solid in hands, thanks to the non-slippery glass finish and curved aluminum corners. All ports and slots are intact and unchanged. We have microUSB 2.0 on the bottom along with 3.5mm audio jack and mono speaker. The access to nano cut dual-SIM cards is on the right while the microSD tray is found on top. This device is very thin, dimensions are 161.7 x 80.9 x 7.4 mm. It is weighted 200 g (7.05 oz) which is not so heavy looking at screen size.
The aluminum buttons are clicky as the home button embedded with a fingerprint scanner. As usual, the scanner works fast and accurate, but there are times it struggles reading my thumb when wet. Overall, it still reads my thumbs swiftly for most of the time.
Display
The pro version of A9 stick with same screen as original one. It features a 6 inches Full HD Super AMOLED so we expect display Colors should very vivid, sharp and shold have pleasing viewing angles even in outdoors under the bright, sunny weather. Super AMOLED is best display in the market at present. The other good thing is that the the phone features a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 4 on its top so we can say that the protection of the display should be great.
Camera
Moving to camera, We have a bigger sensor at 16MP f1.9, up from 13MP f1.9 Samsung Galaxy A9 of 2015. Meanwhile, the front-facing selfie camera is stuck at 8MP f1.9 on each. The video quality is still at 1080p at 30fps. In terms of quality, the new Galaxy A9 Pro’s camera produces overall brighter and warmer photos. The preserved details are crisp as the non-pro, but with only slight smoother sharpening and processing for the Pro.
For selfie photos, the lack of natural colors is very apparent for both cameras. The beautification adds an effective skin toning while making you look pale and unrealistic with thick makeup effect. Front not so bad it is average one. Your expectation not so high for front facing camera if you are thinking to buy this device but still front cam above average not best one
Hardware and Performance
Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro is powered by snapdragon 652 paired with adreno 510. So we have very high expectation from this device in terms of performance. It runs on android v6.0.1 Touchwiz UI on top. Samsung made lot of optimisation in touchwiz UI to boost up the performance. for storage, there is 32 GB of inbuilt storage which should be enough for most to install heavy games. There is also option to expend storage via micro SD card slot.
The RAM is now 4GB, up from 3GB of the non-pro. This adds a little speed in running apps and games, but won’t give any extra mile lead in benchmark scores and overall performance. It is available in three colours White, Black, Gold. All the basic sensor are there: Fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass. So this device is fulfill a lot of features.
Battery
This is the main highlight of this phone. There is a massive 5000 mAh battery added by company which is big upgrade over Samsung A9. Samsung also added fast charging support so i have to say this device will take very less time for charging. According to a reviewer from youtube, There are times the battery is filled from 0 to 100% in just about 2 hours and 10 minutes. So this is great pros. of this device. It can alives full day in single charge.
Pricing and Availability
This device will be available from September 25 to all the Samsung certified stores all over the india. Samsung did not provided any information related online availability of this device but we can expect this should be be available on all well rated online stores. Pricing of this device is Rs. 32,499 in India. Overall this is good mid-range device but there are more option available in indian market we will compare it later.
