Finally, Samsung has officially announced Galaxy S8 Active, a rugged version of Galaxy S8. We aren’t doubted about specs as they came to light a long time ago. Besides S8 what we are extra getting in this is a larger 4000 mAh battery, highly durable rugged body with MIL-STD 810G (The United States military standard) and 5G enabled device. Essentially, The device is focused on to deliver high endurance in critical conditions. Remaining things are similar to original Galaxy S8.
Further, The S8 Active features 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor paired with Adreno 540 GPU. Regarding storage, it has 64GB internal storage coupled with 4GB RAM and runs on Android 7.0, Nougat on top TouchWiz UI. For optics, the device bearing a 12MP rear and an 8MP front facing shooter. The battery capacity is 4000 mAh with Adaptive fast charging support. It measures 152 x 64.8 x 9.9 mm and weighs 208 grams.
As is usually the case with “Active” series, the device is AT&T exclusive and is priced at $850. If you are interested in paying with installments, it costs $28.34 per month by signing up for a 30-month contract. As far as availability is concerned, The handset is already up for pre-orders and will be available for purchase by August 11 in the US meanwhile; it comes in Meteor Gray and Titanium Gold color options.
