Samsung secures first position in Q2, 2017 of top smartphone manufacturer with 79.5 million units shipped

Samsung continues dominating the smartphone market and stands on the first position in terms of shipping devices in Q2, 2017.

According to Strategy Analytics firm, The Korean tech giant enjoying the first position with 22.5% of global market in the April-June months followed by Apple, Huawei, Oppo, and Xiaomi. However, the company views slight fall of 0.6% compared to last year, but still leading the world with 79.5 million units shipped.

The archrival Apple Inc. secures the 2nd position with total 11.4% shipments with 0.4% less when compared to same period last year. Overall, the company shipped 41.6 million units at the same time. Furthermore, Chinese companies are delivering tough competition among the world leaders.

Huawei Technologies Co. stands in 3rd place with 10.7% percent of the market which is 0.7 higher than last year’s shipment. Moreover, another two Chinese brand Xiaomi and Vivo presenting joint battle with 8.2% and 6.4% respectively. Rising Chinese firms OPPO Electronics Corp. gathered 5.3% followed by Xiaomi with 4.3% growth over last year.
