Xiaomi Mi 6X launched in China with Snapdragon 660 processor, Android One Mi A2 coming to India soon


Xiaomi today announced Mi 6X smartphone in home country China as it was expected. It is the predecessor of Mi 5X, that was introduced last year in the similar time stamp. In terms of design, the handset resembles company’s own Redmi Note 5 Pro, that was recently announced in India and several other parts of the world.

Speaking of specs, The Xiaomi Mi 6X features 5.99-inches Full HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio display at a resolution of 1080 x 2160p, 403 pixels per inch (PPI). It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with Adreno 512 GPU under the hood. The most highlighted part of this device is its camera. The device sports dual rear cameras including 20 MP + 12 MP sensors, where the secondary sensor is implemented to capture depth sense information to take portrait shots. On the front side, it offers a 20 MP Sony IMX376 sensor with AI-based beautification mode to capture selfies, also includes a soft LED flash for night shots.

Furthermore, the Mi 6X packed-in with 3,010 mAh non-removable battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support to charge it quickly, still not sure whether the company includes fast charger out of the box or not. The dual hybrid SIM device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo on the top of MIUI 9.5, soon company is supposed to launch another variant of the device MI A2 with Stock Android UI. Apart from that, other connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C. The device measurements are 158.7 × 75.4 × 7.3 mm and weighs 168 grams.

Xiaomi Mi 6X Price and Availability

The Xiaomi Mi 6X is priced at RMB 1,599 (Approx. INR 16,900 or USD$ 250) for the 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage, whereas, higher 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant will cost you RMB 1,799 (Approx. INR 19,000 or US$ 285). Moreover, one more variant is introduced by the company with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal, that cost RMB 1,999 (Approx. INR 21,000 or US$ 315). If we talk about availability, the will go on sale in China starting from April 27, but no clue when will it move for a global launch.
