Yesterday, Smartron, an Indian brand launched new smartphone called srt.phone, inspired by legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulker. The handset directly compete with Redmi Note 4 which is India’s most selling smartphone. Today we will compare both the devices looking at on their specifcations. So let’s start –
Design and Display
Smartron srt.phone vs Redmi Note 4 Design and Built Quality Comparison: The Redmi Note 4 features a 5.5-inch 1080 x 1980p IPS LCD display at 401 PPI whereas protection is unspecified. On the other hand, Smartron srt.phone also comes with same 5.5 inch Full HD display but their is clearly mentioned it has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 fitted on display which makes it more solid device compare to Redmi Note 4.
Moving to design, Redmi Note 4 has Full Metal Unibody design with power button on left whereas fingerprint sensor is placed at rear under camera. Overall, in-hand feel is very premium of this device.
The Smartron srt.phone is made with plastic which makes is more bulkier and lighter phone then Redmi Note 4 but gives premium in hand feel despite using plastic. But one thing which i did’t like is its power key. The Power on/off button is placed on the top of device so if you are thinking to buy device you have to stretch your fingers to on or off your device. Overall, the device looks not bad at all in terms of design but Redmi note 4 has edge over Redmi Note 4.
Hardware and Software
Redmi Note 4 vs Smartron srt.phone hardware comparison: The Redmi Note 4 is powered by Snapdragon 625 processor paired with Adreno 506 GPU whereas the srt.phone packed Snapdragon 652 SoC underneath. Both the chipset have their on pros and cons and works differently. The Snapdragon 625 is based on 14nm architecture though Snapdragon works on 28nm architecture. So SD625 is more power efficient and balaced then SD652 processor but 652 is more powerful in gaming department because it comes with Adreno 510 GPU.
For storage, Redmi Note 4 comes in three variants: 2GB RAM/32GB storage, 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage whereas srt.phone is available in two variants: 4GB RAM/32GB storage and higher variant with 4GB RAM/64GB internal storage. unfortunately, you can’t expend storage in srt.phone as it does not have microSD slot but Redmi Note 4 storage is expendable up to 256GB via hybrid slot. But srt.phone provides free unlimited cloud storage to store your date.
Redmi Note 4 vs Smartron srt.phone software comparison: The Redmi Note 4 runs on Android 6.0.1 with MIUI custom skin on top. Their are not much changes to get Nougat update on it because of its heavy custom skin. On the other side, srt.phone comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with very light custom skin, almost gives feel of stock Android and company also promised to provide Android O update and monthly security update.
Camera and battery
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 vs Smartron srt.phone camera comparison: The Redmi Note 4 comes with 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. The srt.phone also sports 13MP and 5MP combination but the quality is not that great compare to Redmi Note 4. We have to taste lot more but first impression of srt.phone was not very good but not bad either.
Battery: This is very strong zone of Xiaomi Redmi note 4 even high end smartphones can’t compete in terms of battery. All credit goes to 4100 mAh massive battery and power efficient Snapdragon 625 processor. The srt.phone comes with smaller 3000 mAh battery and power hungry 652 processor so can’t expect much in battery department. But their is quick charge 2.0 available on srt.phone which can charge faster then Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
Connectivity – Both the phones have all the basic connectivity features. Both phones can support dual some but hybrid slot is given on Redmi Note 4, means you can either use 2 SIM cards or 1 SIM and a microSD slot. srt.phone comes with NFC support which is useful to do mobile payments.
