Design and Built Quality
The Redmi Note 5 will come with full metal unibody design as we have seen on its predecessor. The device may feature a 5.5 inch full HD display with on-screen software buttons, we could see bottom faced speakers along with a Type C connector and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top.
It will be very identical to Redmi Note 4 with minor improved design with single rear camera and a fingerprint reader under it which could be easily accessible to unlock the design. Volume rockers are also looking very plasticky on current Redmi note 4 and definitely need some improvement on this field but acceptable looking at this price point.
Processor and Hardware
The next Redmi device is expected to come with Snapdragon 652 or might be 653 processor instead 625 which is being used on Redmi Note 4. Snapdragon 653 is very good processor to handle all tasks being performed by any Android device but 652 feels bit oldy and does not make any sense released device in 2017.
For storage, it will come with 3/4 GB RAM coupled with 32/64/128 GB inbuilt storage and their are big chances Xiaomi might ditch 2GB RAM variant as Android Nougat needs more resources. Also it will get all basic features like 3.5 mm headset jack, WiFi, 4G LTE support, MicroUSB port or type C port, IR blaster and GPS.
Camera and Display
The Redmi Note 5 will feature a full HD 5.5-inch 1080 x 1980 pixels IPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass 4 Protection which will be a great more in that direction because Xiaomi device always being criticised for poor display quality. The new display will be more bright, vivid and crisp color production at 401 PPI.
The rear camera will remain 16 MP but with improved lens and will produce sharp and more good looking images definitely. It will feature are Digital Image Stabilization, Geo-tagging, Live Filters and autofocus. Front facing camera is expected 8MP. The Redmi Note 4 lacked not so good looking low light photography and indoor shots and Xiaomi is working to improve these issues.
battery
The Redmi Note 3 and Note 4 both comes with massive 4000 mAh battery but better battery life on Note 4 because of power efficient Snapdragon 625 processor. Both the devices lasts full day easily and even more on Note 4. Xiaomi don’t need to do extra work in this field. The Redmi Note 5 is also expected to pack 4000 mAh battery which will provide enough juice to last full day even on heavy use so it will never bother to users in terms of battery.
The new feature which Xiaomi can add, is quick charge 3.0 to charge handset rapidly. It will able to charge full battery in 90 minutes or further more.
Release date and Pricing
Xiaomi does not have any particular time to launch smartphones, it can launch device anytime so its not easy to predict launch date. By going with minor leaks, The Redmi Note 5 is expected to launch in August or September month. China will be the first country to get it as always they it will push for global launch according to our prediction. Nothing is confirmed yet so be patient for official announcement and stay tuned with us, we will inform you first about its release date.
As far as pricing is concerned, price will remain almost same to its predecessor but their might be some increment if Xiaomi adds some extra features to give it premium feel. 3GB RAM/32GB storage is expected to launch at 1099 Yuan (10,999 INR or $160), 4GB RAM/64 GB storage for 1,199 Yuan (11,999 INR or $175) whereas the higher variant will be available at 1,299 Yuan (12,999 INR or $190).
