As promised, Xiaomi has unwrapped some new devices for the UK at an event held in London. Here, Xiaomi has launched a total four products; Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro, Xiaomi Mi Band 3, Redmi 6A and Mi Electric Scooter. Even though Xiaomi products can be purchased 3rd party sellers, Xiaomi also opens a new Xiaomi Store in Westfield London, that will be inaugurated on November 18.
Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro
Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro comes with a transparent back and features a 6.21-inch 1080 x 2248 pixels Super AMOLED HDR 10 compatible display covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, also a big notch on front. It is powered by the by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with Adreno 630 GPU. It is embedded in infrared face unlock and in-display fingerprint sensor as a security feature to unlock the device safely.
The Mi 8 Pro has 3,000 mAh non-removable battery and runs on Android 8.1 on the top of the company’s custom MIUI 10. The optics department is handled by Dual 12 MP + 12 MP cameras and front side gets a 20 MP shooter for selfies. It has all the necessary connectivity features including Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, NFC, and USC Type-C 1.0 port, but lacking 3.5 mm jack. When it comes to price, the device is priced at £499 (approx. $650) and comes in only 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, whereas, it is available in China with extended storage. The device will be for sale starting from November 9 on Mi UK website and other stores. The UK is the first country to get the global edition of this device.
Furthermore, the company also introduces Mi Band 3 and Redmi 6A. If you buy it together, it will cost you £99.99 or alone Mi Band 3 is Priced at £26.99 in the UK, first 10,000 buyers will get it at only £19.99 (only Mi Band 3) if they buy it in between 12nd to 23rd November. Apart from that, Mi Electric scooter is another product that will be available in the UK for purchase, costing you £399.99. First 100 units will be sold at reduced price of £299.99 and the product will be available on Xiaomi authorized stores later this month.
Pocophone F1
However, the company didn’t announce it in official launch event, but the device is up for sale on Amazon UK website. The country gets only two variants; either 64GB storage or 128GB built-in storage coupled with 6GB RAM. Though there is one more variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage, which is currently unavailable and we aren’t sure whether it will be available in the UK or Not.
Considering the price, the base 6GB/64GB variant costs £329.99, which goes up to £349.00 for the higher 6GB/128GB variant. The good thing is that it supports band 71, which means you can freely enjoy the LTE, which isn’t the case variant sold in the USA.
Furthermore, the Pocophone F1 arrives with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6.18-inch Full HD+ notch display, a dual rear camera with 12 MP + 5 MP sensors, 20 MP front-facing camera, a 4,000 mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0, Android Oreo with MIUI 9.6 out of the box.
