Sharp has officially announced its much-anticipated bezel-less smartphone called “Sharp Aquos S2” at an event in China. However, the device is not fully Bezel-less but still offering a lot with 87.5% screen to body ratio. The back of the device is made with 3D glass surrounded by a metal frame and glossy finish body.
As rumored, the handset comes with 5.5-inch 1080 x 2040 pixels FHD+ 17: 9 aspect ratio display with 550 nits of brightness. The Aquos S2 will be available in two different variants – Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 and Snapdragon 660 processors, where 4GB RAM + 64GB uses SD 630 chipset while, higher-end 6GB RAM + 128GB variant is powered by Snapdragon 660 SoC.
The handset is backed by 3020 mAh battery with standard 5V==2A charger and runs on Android 7.0 OS out of the box. The fingerprint sensor is embedded in the home button, so sadly there is no on-screen fingerprint sensor as it was rumored earlier.

As for optics, there is a vertical dual camera setup on the rear, featuring 12MP + 8MP sensors that offer f/1.75 aperture whereas, on the front, it has an 8MP sensor to capture selfies. It measures 141.8 x 72.04 x 7.9 mm and weighs 140 grams. Other connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
As far as availability is concerned, the Standard SD630 variant is priced at 2499 RMB (approx. 435$ or 23,700 INR) which goes up to 3499 RMB (approx. 520$ or 33,200 INR) for the high-end SD660 variant. Color options include Black, White, Blue, and Mint Blue. It will be available for purchase starting from August 14 in China. later, it might jump to other markets, but we are not so sure.
