If you remember, Google had introduced “Android One” initiative back in 2014 by aiming to provide Stock Android experience in the budget segment. Even though, Pixel series delivering pure Android UI but an average consumer can’t afford it. Android One was Google’s attempt to transport stock UI to a wide audience at an affordable price. In several developing countries such as India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan Nepal etc., Google had collaborated with local vendors to provide affordable smartphones but for some reason, it can’t reach to what the company was expecting. so afterward, the Android One program disappears from the markets.
Now it seems that the company isn’t in the mood of to give up its plans. A leak from krispitech.com indicates that Google has teamed up with Xiaomi to bring a new Android one based smartphones. However, Xiaomi is known for providing highly customized skin which they call MIUI, Apparently, it would be interesting to see a Stock Android interfaced smartphone from this Chinese manufacturer. Lately, it has also appeared on Xiaomi’s official website Mi.Com listed as “Mi A1”.
