As you can see in images, the front panel is flat rather than making it curvier like its predecessor. Top and bottom Bezels are least, and either side of the device is covered with almost invisible borders. All in all, the front portion appears remarkably improved with a high share of a display. On the rear surface, a dual verticle Leica lenses surround it, and fingerprint sensor is embedded in the middle of the rear portion under the camera module. The Huawei branding is labeled at the rear bottom. Frankly speaking, the first impression of the device is satisfying, that one would expect from a well-established brand in 2017. Besides, very interesting color scheme offered including Blue, Brown, and Grey colors option. The company claims it to be more than a smartphone, targeting its AI inclinations.
Further, Evan eventually posted a close-up shot of the rear-facing shooter. Vertically aligned camera setup includes dual LED flash and some sort of laser autofocusing system based on AI. As you can see, “SUMMILUX- H 1:1.6/27 ASPH.” is marked on the opposite side of LEICA branding; Most probably, the mark is revealing f/1.6 aperture as the company has already confirmed. Both pro and standard variants are speculated to arrive with 20MP (Monochrome) + 12MP (RGB) Dual rear cameras with Leica lenses, f/1.6 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, Laser AF, OIS and an 8MP shooter on the front to capture selfies.
Apart from that, the device is rumored to bring 5.99-inch (2880 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD+ IPS display, Android Oreo with Emotion UI 6.0, 4,000 mAh battery and IP67 rated water and dust resistant body. The storage will be either 64GB or 128GB combining with 6GB of RAM. Obviously, it would be backed by company’s latest and greatest chip – the HiSilicon Kirin 970.
Overall, recent rumors suggest, the company might launch four smartphones at the given timestamp. Rest of the phones are Mate 10 Lite, Mate 10 and Mate 10 Porche Edition. The Mate 10 Porche is expected to be the luxurious version of Mate 10 pro, as the company did last year with Mate 9 Pro. The standard Mate 10 is similar to Pro variant as far as specs are concerned, but it would likely to bring conventional 16:9 aspect ratio screen and thick bezels. Remaining Mate 10 Lite will be the most probable international variant of recently launched Maimang 6; which is already available for purchase in the local market China.
