Razer Phone 2 officially announced – Price, Specifications, Features and Availability

Gaming smartphone manufacturer Razer has announced its next-generation gaming smartphone to be called Razer Phone 2. Specs-wise, the handset borrows most of the features and design from its predecessor, but with latest and more powerful hardware under the hood.

The Razer Phone 2 offers a 5.72 inches 1440 x 2560 pixels IGZO LCD display covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, oleophobic coating using the traditional 16:9 aspect ratio panel. As per the company’s claim, the provided display is 50% brighter than the last year’s Razer Phone, can hit up to 580 nits with improved capabilities to preserve details in dark scenes. It is powered by the latest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with Adreno 630 GPU.

The Razer Phone 2 is backed by 4,000 mAh non-removable battery with QuickCharge 4.0+ and fast Qi wireless charging. Regarding the optics, the rear camera is handled by the dual 12MP, f/1.8 + 12MP, f/2.6 sensors with 2x Optical Zoom, PDAF, dual pixel PDAF and OIS for the main shooter. On the front, it has an 8MP, F/2.0 camera for selfies lovers. For storage, it has 64GB of built-in storage with 8GB of RAM.

The handset is crafted with glass back with IP67 rated body against water and dust. The device runs on 8.1 Oreo with custom UI, but very close to the Stock Android UI. Besides, there isn’t any 3.5mm audio jack, but the company bundles a 24-bit DAC dongle with the phone.

Pricing and Availability

The Razer Phone 2 comes in only black color option and is priced at 800$ for USA market. Apart from, there is a premium Satin finish version, which cost 900$. The regular variant is already up for pre-orders, but the premium version will join the party later on.
