Xiaomi to release MI8 8 GB RAM variant today

Xiaomi Mi 8 is the latest flagship from the Chinese manufacturer and comes with high-end configurations out of the box. Today, the company introduces a new variant of this device with whooping 8 GB RAM. To recall, originally the device was announced with 6 GB RAM, although there is a Mi Explorer Special Edition with 8 GB RAM. Apart from the increased RAM, rest of the specs will remain same as the standard variant.

Furthermore, the device will be officially announced today (8.8.2018) at 8:00 PM (GMT 8+) and unfortunately, there are no words on pricing leaving us in suspense. The current pricing of the base 64 GB variant is 2,699 CNY followed by 2,999 and 3,299 CNY respectively for the 128 GB and 256 GB models. All these models are including 6 GB RAM as I mentioned earlier.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Specifications

The Xiaomi Mi 8 is equipped with 6.21-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the top. The handset is powered by latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with Adreno 630 GPU under the hood. It runs on MIUI 9.5 based Android 8.1, Oreo out of the box. Regarding the optics, the device accumulates dual 12 MP rear cameras and a single 20 MP shooter for the selfies.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 packs 3,400 mAh non-removable battery to keep the lights on. Considering the storage, the device has three variants 64/128/256 GB internal storage paired with 6 GB RAM, 8 GB variant yet to launch. The dual SIM device doesn’t include expandable storage and 3.5 mm jack either removed. A USB Type-C to 3.5 converters is being shipped along with the device. Moreover, the device includes connectivity options such as Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS with GLONASS, NFC and USB Type-C charging port.
