Huawei Maimang 6 announced with four cameras, 5.9-inch FHD display, Kirin 659 processor


Huawei has unleashed Maimang 6 smartphone in at an event held China, as expected. The specs are equal to as rumored earlier. The key highlight of this device is its four cameras (two rear + two front) with 18:9 aspect ratio display panel.

The Maimang 6 features a 5.9-inch (2160 x 1080 pixels) Full HD+ 18:9 ratio display covered with 2.5D curved glass at 407 PPI. Further moving to optics, It is equipped with dual rear (16MP + 2MP) cameras placed in the vertical position, and front side also arranges a dual (13MP + 2MP) front-facing snapper. The secondary camera on both front and rear is being used to capture depth information. Furthermore, the handset is powered by an octa-core (2.36GHz 4 x Cortex-A53  + 1.7GHz 4 x Cortex-A53) Kirin 659 processor paired with Mali-T830 MP2. It runs on EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7.0 platform.


The fingerprint sensor is embedded on the rear under camera module. Regarding the storage, it houses 64GB internal storage coupled with 4GB RAM. The battery capacity is given 3,340 mAh. Other features include 4G LTE VoLTE, 3.5mm jack, Wi-FI, 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with GLONASS, NFC and micro USB 2.0 port. The device dimensions are 156.2 x 75.2 x 7.5 mm and weight is 164g. The dual sim device employs hybrid slot, which means either you can use two SIM cards or a SIM + microSD slot.

Pricing and Availability

Considering the price, It is priced at 2,399 RMB and comes in Streamer Gold, Aurora Blue, and Obsidian black color options. As for availability, the pre-bookings has already started on JD.COM, Vmall, and some other online stores. It will be available for purchase starting from September 30. Apart from that, the company introduced a new fitness tracker dubbed as “Huawei Band 3 ” youth edition, which is priced at 499 RMB.
