Recently, MediaTek had introduced two new upper mid-range chipsets dubbed as Helio P23 and P30 respectively. Both SoCs are offering some decent onboard configurations, and are based on 16nm process. Just about a week later, now we are hearing about a new MediaTek processor called Helio P40, the successor of P30.
The forthcoming chipset is said to employ TSMC’s latest 12nm process and an Octa-Core CPU. As per new report posted on Antutu, Meizu would be among the first to use this chip. The Chinese Manufacturer Meizu is planning to bring a smartphone with Helio P40 in Q1, 2018. However, we aren’t known about the Meizu device but is said to be company’s next flagship smartphone. It will worth mentioning that the company recently launched 2017’s flagships Meizu Pro 7 using MediaTek’s Helio X30 SoC.
Apart from that, recently Meizu has enrolled to use Qualcomm processors. Speaking on that, Meizu’s VP Li Nan said that company will coexist with all the major suppliers including Samsung, Qualcomm, and MediaTek. Moreover, it will be interesting to see what kind of improvements P40 will make over its predecessor.
