Nokia 6 (2018) with Snapdragon 630 processor announced

As promised, HMD Global announced Nokia 6 (2018) smartphone in China. It is a successor of original Nokia 6, that was unveiled last year in January. The device features same 5.5-inches 1080p Full HD display with traditional 16:9 aspect ratio and big bezels.

What we get new is its processor. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 chipset paired with Adreno 508 GPU. The headset offers 4GB LPDDR4 RAM either 32 GB or 64 GB internal storage, depends on which variant you have chosen. Coming to OS, it runs on Android 7.1.2, Nougat out of the box, but can be upgraded to Android Oreo. Similar to its predecessor, it comes with hybrid SIM slot.

The Nokia 6 (2018) is equipped with a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, 1.0um pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, whereas, on the front, it has 8MP front-facing camera, 1.12-pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, 84° wide-angle lens. Moreover, the Fingerprint sensor is embedded on the rear under camera module. It measures 148.8 × 75.8 × 8.15-8.6mm and weighs 172 grams. Other connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, GPS, USB Type-C. The device is backed by 3,000 mAh battery, that supports fast charging too.

Nokia 6 (2018) Pricing and Availability

The Nokia 6 (2018) is priced at CNY 1,499 (approx. 230$ or Rs. 14,500) for 32 GB storage variant while, 64 GB storage variant costs CNY 1,699 (approx. $260 or Rs. 16,500). It is now available for pre-order and will be going on sale starting from January 10 in China. As of now, no words from the company for its global or Indian roll out.
