Xiaomi’s subbrand Poco has been teasing a new smartphone dubbed as Poco F1, Finally, the company released it in India. The smartphone is designed by Xiaomi and comes with customized MIUI 9.6 based Android Oreo out of the box. It will worth noting that this isn’t a traditional MIUI with a lot of features stuffed-in, but a customized theme offering nearly stock Android experience.
Poco F1 Specifications and Features
The Poco F1 has a 6.18-inch Full HD+ notch display covered with unspecified Corning Gorilla Glass with a feature to remove notch. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with Adreno 630 GPU, also have LiquidCool Technology to cool the device in extensive heat condition. Regarding the optics, it has a dual rear camera with 12 MP + 5 MP sensors and a 20 MP front-facing camera with AI capabilities to provide best possible shots. Another good feature is infrared based facial recognition, which according to comapny can unlock the device in less then 0.4 seconds, even in a dark environment.
Furthermore, the device carries four variant 64/128/256 either with 6 GB RAM or 8 GB LPDDR4x RAM, while the fourth one is a special Armored Edition. The handset packs a 4,000 mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support and company is bundling a fast charger (9V==2A) in the box. Other necessary connectivity options include Dual 4G+ VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, GPS with GLONASS, Bluetooth 5 and USB Type-C.
Pricing and Availability
The Poco F1 is priced at Rs. 20,999 INR for 6 GB RAM + 64 GB variant followed by 23,999 INR for 6 GB + 128 GB, 28,999 INR 8 GB + 256 GB and goes up to 29,999 INR for Armored Edition. It offers three colors variants Graphite Black, Steel Blue, and Rosso Red. Regarding the availability, the device is exclusively available through Flipkart and Mi.Com and will start selling from August 30.
