Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth first sale kicking off today in China

Xiaomi recently launched Mi 8 Youth in China, which could arrive as Mi 8 lite in Global markets. Finally, the device is available for sale in home country China for the first time. The handset comes in three Aurora Blue, Sunset Gold, and Midnight Black color options and is priced at 1,399 RMB (approx. US$205) for base variant and goes up to 1,699 RMB (approx. US$250) for 6GB + 64GB and 1,999 RMB (approx. US$290) for higher 6GB + 128GB variants respectively.

To recall the configurations, The Mi 8 Youth features 6.26-inches 1080 x 2220 pixels Full HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 octa-core chipset coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. As for optics, it has a dual 12MP, Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.9 + 5MP rear camera, whereas, on the front, it incorporates a 24MP selfie shooter with Sony IMX576 sensor. Considering the storage, the device has 3 variants: either 3/4 GB RAM and 64GB storage or a higher variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage.

The device packs a 3,350 mAh non-removable battery supplied with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0. It measures 156.4×75.8×7.5mm and weighs 169 grams, further, it adds Android 8.1 Oreo OS with the company’s own custom MIUI on the top. A fingerprint sensor is embedded in the back and provides all the essential connectivity options including Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.0 LE, GPS with GLONASS, and USB Type-C port for charging.
