Xiaomi Black Shark 2 (AWM-A0) got certified by the TEENA

Xiaomi subbrand Black Shark is known to produce the gaming-centric smartphone. the company recently announced its first smartphone dubbed as Black Smart. Now the company seems to launch its predecessor soon in the market. A device with model number AWM-A0 got certified by the Chinese certification authority TEENA by unleashing some of the key specifications. The device is speculated to be called Black Shark 2.

Black Shark 2 (AWM-A0) expected specifications

According to the TEENA listing, the AWM-A0 features 5.99-inch display, but no mentioning of resolution or screen type. The device will be backed by 4,000 mAh non-removable battery. It has a Snapdragon 845 processor similar to its predecessor. The RAM is 8GB and measures 160 x 75.26 x 8.7 mm. the listing also reveals a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, whereas, it was placed at the front of the last generation Black Shart. Further, it adds True Liquid Cooling and a dedicated image processing unit to provide an advanced gaming experience.

To remind, the Black Shark was announced with a 5.99-inch IPS LCD screen with 1080×2160 pixels Full HD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with 2.8GHz octa-core Kryo 385 CPU and Adreno 630 GPU. The device runs on Android Oreo out of the box. It has either 6GB RAM + 64GB storage or 8GB RAM + 128GB storage under the hood. The optics department is handled by the dual 12MP, f/1.7 aperture rear camera and a 20MP f/1.7 front-facing shooter with having 4,000 mAh non-removable battery.

Pricing and Availability

The Black Shark 1 was priced at 2,999 yuan (approx. 435US$) in China for the 6GB RAM variant, while the 8GB RAM variant was priced at 3,499 yuan (approx. 510US$). But there isn’t any hind given by the company regarding the price of Black Shark 2, but we expect the device will be arriving at the similar price point. Given that the device grab certificate from TEENA, soon it will be launched in China, but no confirmation from the company whether it will available for the global markets or not!
