Xiaomi Mi 8 in-display retail unit surfaced online

Xiaomi had launched the Mi 8 smartphone in May with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Before that, a small clip was leaked showing the in-display fingerprint sensor on Xiaomi device, maybe that time the company was testing this technology. Finally, the device is ready to enter the market as a retail unboxed device’s hands-on images has been leaked presumed to be called Mi 8 UD (we aren’t sure about its name). Recently, Xiaomi proposed to launch a surprising device alongside Mi 8 Youth, this could be the surprise, but we can’t confirm that.

As we can see in the above images, there is no fingerprint sensor on the back and in-display fingerprint sensor is printed on the box. The rendered device color is a Gold gradient or Xiaomi calls it twilight gold. It has 8GB RAM coupled with 128GB internal storage. Apart from that, rest of the specs it borrows from the original Mi 8. The device features 6.21-inch AMOLED display, Snapdragon 845 processor, Adreno 640 GPU, Dual vertical 12MP rear camera module, a single 20MP selfie shooter, and 3,400 mAh non-removable battery.

Furthermore, The pricing details and availability is yet to announce, but it is presumed to be priced at 3,699 RMB (approx. 540US$), whereas, the standard Mi 8 pricing starts from 2,599 RMB (approx. 380US$) for base variant and goes up to 3,299 RMB (approx. 480US$) for 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option.
