Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition confirmed to arrive on September 19

Xiaomi’s Mi 8 Youth Edition has been rumored a long time ago, finally, the company officially confirmed its arrival. The company publishes an invite scheduling the event for September 19 in China. Basically, this is a lighter version of the original Mi 8 that should be placed at the affordable price point in between Mi 8 and Mi 8SE.

Regarding the specs, thanks to the TEENA listing that showed up the full specs sheet. As per Chinese certification site, the device will bring 6.26-inch 1080 x 2220 pixels Full HD+ TFT display on the front. As for optics, it will have dual rear cameras and single 24MP shooter on the front. It is speculated to be driven by 2.2 GHz octa-core processor (possibly Snapdragon 710) under the hood. A fingerprint sensor is embedded in the back.

It further adds a 3,250 mAh non-removable battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo skinned with Custom MIUI. The device will have three storage variants: 32/64/128GB pairing 4/6/8GB RAM. 8GB RAM seems kind of unusual for a lighter version, but that is what TEENA listing had revealed. Moreover, the storage can be also expended up to 256GB via external micro SD card and essential connectivity options are available on this device.
