Qualcomm has introduced two new chipset Snapdragon 660 and 630 which will replace current being used Snapdragon 653 and 625 processors.
Snapdragon 660
The Snapdragon 660 is based on 14nm technology and has 8x Kryo 260 CPU cores clocked at 2.2GHz which company promises to provide 20% better performance compared to Snapdragon 653. Moving to GPU, The GPU is Adreno 512 that offers 30% better performance compared to Adreno 510 according to company’s claim.
It also include the latest Snapdragon X12 LTE modem, Wi-Fi 802.11ac Wave 2, 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, Qualcomm TruSignal adaptive antenna tuning, 600Mbps data and 867Mbps Wi-Fi peak download speed, USB 3.1, Qualcomm Spectra 160 ISP, 4K video capture, QHD display support, Qualcomm Aqstic audio codec support, Qualcomm Hexagon 680 DSP, Qualcomm Hexagon Vector eXtensions (HVX), Qualcomm All-Ways Aware, and QuickCharge 4.0.

The Snapdragon 630 is also based 14nm technology and has 8x ARM Cortex-A53 CPU clocked at 2.2GHz that offers 10% faster CPU than the Snapdragon 626. On the other hand, it comes with Snapdragon 630 GPU that offers 30% faster GPU than Snapdragon 625. It includes other feature latest Snapdragon X12 LTE modem, Wi-Fi 802.11ac Wave 2, Bluetooth 5.0, Qualcomm TruSignal adaptive antenna tuning, 600Mbps data and 433Mbps Wi-Fi peak download speed, USB 3.1, Qualcomm Spectra 160 ISP, 4K video capture, 1080p display support, Qualcomm Aqstic audio codec support, Qualcomm Hexagon 642 DSP, Qualcomm All-Ways Aware, and QuickCharge 4.0.

The Snapdragon 660 is ready to ship and you can see devices powered with 660 SoC in this quarter whereas the Snapdragon 630 processor will be available for consumers by the end of May and expected to see in devices in Q3, 2017.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will definitely get Snapdragon 660 and might be first to get that Chipset !
It should get because Xiaomi is doing good job and expectation are very high !
